At Hello Tokyo, located at 9038 W Golf Rd, Niles, IL 60714, you are invited into a world that tantalizes the senses and celebrates the delightful charm of Japanese culture. This discount store, reminiscent of the beloved Japanese dollar stores, is a treasure trove of unique finds ranging from snacks to stationery, toys, and household items—all at remarkably affordable prices.

When you step inside, the vibrant displays beckon, each section brimming with carefully curated products that transport you straight to Japan. Picture yourself perusing aisles lined with adorable Pokemon and Sanrio merchandise, alongside an eclectic array of ramen, candies, and novelty trinkets. The store's commitment to cleanliness and organization makes for a pleasant shopping experience, where you can genuinely take your time to explore without feeling rushed or overwhelmed.

Customers rave about the variety and charm that Hello Tokyo offers. As Zina Ibrahim, a satisfied shopper, notes, it felt like a slice of Japan while browsing through charming stickers, cute socks, and engaging toys. Many visitors, including Kai Rush, appreciate the store's welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff, highlighting how their enthusiastic service enhances the overall experience. The allure of discovering new items—be it beauty supplies, rare anime figures, or delightful snacks—keeps patrons returning for more.

However, it's important to note that while many items are priced around $2.25, some specialty items may exceed this amount, as Shan B pointed out. This slight variation in pricing only adds to the excitement of finding rare collectibles that are worth the splurge, and it contributes to the store's diverse inventory.

In a world where shopping can often feel impersonal, Hello Tokyo stands out as a community-centric destination where you can engage with the vibrant culture of Japan while unearthing delightful treasures. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Japanese goods or a curious newcomer, this store promises an enjoyable and memorable shopping trip. Be prepared to leave with a bag full of enchanting items and a heart full of joy!

The store carries a lot of cute pen/pencils stationary things. I will come again in the future without my toddler because I couldn't see things carefully. I did buy a few snacks and some ramen.

Now that we have a Daiso in the area, I have less need to go to hello Tokyo, but it's fun for variety every so often.they have a lot of Pokemon and Sanrio stuff, too. At my last visit, they for some reason struggled to find my rewards account and kept insisting I don't have one, which I definitely do, as I've shopped there loyally for over 3 years now. I had to show her that I'm receiving emails from hello Tokyo at which point she then decided to try my phone number again begrudgingly. Kind of put a bit of a damper on my experience.

Such a fascinating little store ! It made me feel like going to Japan in a way! So many items for kids stickers ,pens , socks and toys, household items, anything comes to your mind, they have it . It's like the Japanese version of five Below . Very impressed with the cleanness of the store as well. The owners are so sweet , very respectful, and welcoming . Reasonable prices, everything is $ 2 and up some items are priced higher but they are brand names like Hello Kitty .Give them a visit; you definitely will go back again!

First time going to the store and the only reason I’m giving it a four out of five stars is because the title on the outside of the door is deceiving. It reads that everything inside the store is $2.25 and that is not the case. The stuffed animals, collectibles and so much more are definitely more than $2.25. They did have some things that were $2.25 but they had a lot of things that were not. There were still some great options and we left with a lot of goodies! Definitely worth checking out but bring your checkbook if you want a hello Kitty plush.

This place rocks and I hope it grows into a chain. It also shows there is a big following of Japanese culture and life. Such diversity in this place and the other Japanese stores, I have visited in the area. I give this place 5 stars, because the staff was extremely nice. I hope everyone visits "Hello Tokyo," even though I keep calling it "Hello Kitty."

In Nile, Illinois, an extraordinary shopping experience awaits at an authentic Japanese dime store. With an entirely Japanese-sourced inventory, prices vary from $1 to $30-$40 for rare Anime items, but most range around $2.25. This store's wide selection accommodates diverse tastes and age ranges, providing food, beverages, and candies along a wide variety of household products.
